Group 4-Sport Science (third meeting)

In our third meeting we decided to change the experiment, now instead of testing which kind of energy drink is better for sports and athletic activities we are now making an experiment which consists in which kind of throw is the best in baseball and softball, which one can go the fastest, the furthest and which is most accurate. The three throws that we are going to test will be:
  • Overhand throw
  • Side arm throw
  • Underhand throw

Group 4- Sport Science. (Second Meeting)

Project 4- Second Meeting:

Last Wednesday we had our meeting and we did some changes in the experiment, We decided to test only two drinks (including our control drink) instead of six , One with caffeine and the other without, Monster energy drink and Gatorade, To test which ingredients works better for athletes. We are still going to do the same exercises such as the Mile Run, 100 meter sprint and jumping. We also added a few other exercises such as push-ups and sit-ups.

We agreed with the P.E teachers to use the track of the school to test the mile run and the sprint and they also agreed that we could use the BMI machine to test the BMI of our volunteers before and after each exercise. We are still going to be measuring the test subject's Heart rate and their rate of fatigue. We still need to get volunteers for our experiments, i am in Advanced P.E this year and i have plan to get volunteers from my class and give them the letter of consent so their parents are aware of the experiment.

Group 4- Sport Science. (First Meeting)

In this activity, Students from different areas of science such as chemistry, biology and physics were divided into groups of four. The main topic of the project was Sport science, so in order to present this topic, we brainstormed ideas to work on in the future. Because most of my group are biology and chemistry students, we decided to concentrate in those subjects instead of physics. We came up with many ideas for our project, but there was one that we decided to do as it was the most interesting one, the effect of energy drinks in sports and other physical activities. For this projct to be a success we need the consent of the physical education teachers and the principals and we need volunteers that would like to participate in the experiment.
